Update for all Parents

4th Oct 2021

We are currently going through a difficult time in terms of Covid-19 cases within our school. I would like to thank all of you for following the PHA guidelines to date and arranging a PCR test for your child if they were showing symptoms or as a precaution due to the recent outbreak. I would like to assure you that we continue to put in place the advised mitigations to help stop the spread of the virus. As always, we will follow guidance from the PHA and the Education Authority and will continue to update you on any changes that come into place.

Children within the Primary 6/7 bubble who have tested negative must test again at day 8 or 6 days after their initial test. If they begin to show symptoms in the meantime, they must self-isolate and test immediately. Children who are isolating (due to a positive test / as a close contact / a sibling of a positive case or are remaining at home as a precaution) will be set tasks via the Seesaw app and all will be marked present.

The PHA explained today that they are seeing a range of symptoms linked to positive cases of Covid-19 in schools. These include vomiting, diarrhoea, sore throat, headache and tiredness as well as the more common symptoms of a high temperature, new continuous cough and/or loss of taste and smell. It is important to be aware of this and err on the side of caution if you are concerned that your child may have Covid-19 by booking a test for them, especially in the current climate.

We thank you all for your continued support and understanding throughout this difficult period. If you have any questions or queries, please contact the school office at any time.
