Primary 7 Minecraft Education Project
Minecraft Education is a game-based learning platform designed for schools. It is built on the popular Minecraft game but includes features that support curriculum integration and classroom learning. Through immersive, block-based worlds, it helps students develop creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and offers pre-built lessons, coding activities, and assessment tools.
The class began the day with a short walking tour of the Hill of The O’Neill with one of school governors, Suzanne Donnelly. Guided by Minecraft Certified Educators from the AmmA Team, they then used Minecraft to reimagine O’Neill Castle and life on the hill during the late 16th century. Children recreated both the interior and exterior of the castle and represented the people who lived in and around the site. They also had the chance to explore historical maps, images, and records from the period!
