Even though the sun is shining and the end of the school year is on the horizon for the boys and girls in P7, they are still working away. This time it’s on their world around us projects, which saw them create their very own erupting volcanoes. This was a culmination of all the work they have done in the past number of weeks based on natural disasters (with a focus on volcanoes and plate tectonics). There were lots of cross curricular links, particularly with literacy, as they created their on sequels based on events that occurred during the famous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii. We then focused on our art and design skills as we created our very own volcanoes. These would then take on a science link as we looked as chemical reactions and how we could get them to erupt!
