Catholic Schools Week

3rd Feb 2017

Catholic Schools Week was celebrated in Roan in many ways this week. All children had the opportunity to make their own St Brigid's crosses and we had some help from Grandparents of our children. Fr Sweeney called to school to bless our crosses and bless our children's throats.

Mr Mone attended Catholic Schools Week mass in St John the Baptist Church in Portadown. He was accompanied by our Primary 7 Student Council members. Archbishop Eamonn spoke about the importance of protecting our planet. Our school now has a new School Prayer which reads;

'St Patrick, help us to work hard and to be respectful and kind to everyone we meet today. Amen.'

Our children will say this prayer in assembly every morning.

Each class this week have been focussing on the teaching of Religion. Our Primary 7 Confirmation class worked with our Primary 4 Communion class to teach them important prayers such as The Confiteor. Our Foundation and Key Stage One pupils visited the chapel on Wednesday also.
