🎃 Pumpkin Soup 🎃

21st Oct 2021

Mrs Magill’s class made delicious pumpkin soup today in class. Preparations for this dish started a few weeks ago when they went on an adventure to Liam Cassidy’s polytunnel to learn all about how to grow pumpkins and to see some pumpkins that Liam had grown. The children had a wonderful morning learning all about growing their own vegetables and they even got to take home a butternut squash and an aubergine.

This week Liam dropped off two huge pumpkins for the children to use to make their own pumpkin soup. The children all got stuck in and enjoyed peeling and chopping the ingredients. Once it was ready everyone got to taste the soup and they even made an extra pot for all the staff to enjoy at lunchtime! It was delicious.

A huge thank you to Liam for taking the time to allow the children to explore the vegetables in his polytunnel and for hand delivering the two huge pumpkins on Monday morning for us.
